Ulcerative Colitis Guidebook & Video

The American College of Gastroenterology wants to help patients understand that ulcerative colitis (UC) is a treatable condition that can be managed effectively.

This new resource, Ulcerative Colitis: A Guide for Patients, was developed to offer an in-depth look at the condition, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as information on managing diet, finding help and support, talking to your doctor about pregnancy and UC, and a list of resources for further information.

A 15-minute educational video features real-life patient stories, and an interview with IBD Expert Stephen B. Hanauer, MD, FACG, Past-President of the American College of Gastroenterology. One of the UC patients profiled is musician Casey Abrams, a contestant from TV’s “American Idol” competition.
